BUSINESS TOURS
YES tours at local businesses are a great way for students to learn more about the career opportunities around them. While at the facilities, students get a first hand look into how different industries function. These experiences are not only important for students, but also for the business community. These tours allow for local businesses to have a direct voice with their future workforce.
Classroom Speakers
The Council has a list of business professionals from various industries willing to speak to YES classes. This allows students to talk directly to local business leaders while they provide information on their industries and bring a real-world perspective to students.
Mock Interviews
Interviews can often be a nerve racking experience for even the most experienced of professionals, let alone a first time interviewee. To help make their first real world interview experience a success, the Council coordinates mock interview experiences for many of our YES students. In these simulated interviews, students sit down in a one-on-one environment with business professionals and participate in an interview. After each interview, feedback is given to the students, so they can improve themselves before experiencing their first big interview.
