YES: The Bridge Between Being Educated and Being Ready
The interview had been forgettable.
Not bad. Not impressive. Just forgettable.
A recent graduate from a large state university sat across from the HR manager in a suit, answering each question politely but predictably. He talked about himself. He gave the expected answers. He checked the boxes. On paper, he had done what he was supposed to do.
Then the interview reached its final minutes.
The HR manager began explaining the benefits package: health coverage, paid time off, retirement, the kind of practical details that come with stepping into a real job and making real adult decisions.
That is when the graduate looked down.
