Schuylkill County Career Fair
Connecting Students with Careers, Education, and Community
Each spring, the Council hosts the Schuylkill County Career Fair at Martz Hall in Pottsville. The event brings together students from school districts throughout the county with local employers, colleges, technical schools, military representatives, and workforce organizations for a day of career exploration.
Students have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with professionals representing a wide range of industries and career paths. These conversations allow students to learn about local employment opportunities, job responsibilities, educational requirements, training programs, workplace expectations, and the skills employers value most. Representatives from colleges and technical schools provide information about degree programs, certifications, financial aid, and other pathways available after graduation, while military representatives discuss opportunities for service, education, and career training.
On the upper level of Martz Hall, the Career Fair also features a “Quality of Life” area with organizations serving communities throughout Schuylkill County. Students can learn about programs, services, and resources available to them and their families. They can also explore volunteer opportunities that allow them to become more involved in their communities, support local organizations, gain experience, and build meaningful connections.
The Career Fair helps students connect what they are learning in school with the opportunities and resources available throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Whether they plan to enter the workforce, attend college, pursue technical training, serve in the military, or become more active in their community, students leave with greater awareness of their options and valuable contacts who can help them take the next step toward their future.
